Synopsis

In a Synthwave-fueled, high-stakes battle against his malevolent doppelgänger, a determined hero faces off against clones wreaking havoc. Armed with cutting-edge scanning technology, he discovers a new reading that suggests the danger might not be over yet...

Production History

Starring Casey Poma, this short film was created for Ralph's sound design class and filmed after hours during the production of The Brat Snack in San Diego, CA, in 2020. With a runtime requirement of 1 minute (with a little wiggle room for titles and credits), the film was completed quickly (in an estimated 90 minutes) and was mostly improvised. It features original sound effects, carefully crafted in Max and Ableton by Ralph, and hand-drawn visual effects by Casey. Most of the scanning and communication sounds are uniquely created, except for the computer-generated robot voice, which was made using LingoJam's Robot Voice Generator. The film also includes synthwave tracks by Sagittarius V and Aries Beats. Cat Cat Productions is considering expanding this story for their next project, so stay tuned for updates and let us know if you’d like to see more!
